I
can't talk about myself without first mentioning
my sweet husband, my "Tulla" girl, and "Popper", who owns all of us (he is a cat after all). I couldn't begin to do what I do without the unconditional love and laughter that they bring into our home and my life. ![]() I've spent most
of my life exploring a multitude
of mediums including wood carving, photography, colored
pencil,
pastel, porcelain, oils, and everything from sewing and quilting to Photoshop and web design.
I began drawing my own images in 2005. I knew quite a bit about Photoshop, so this seemed the perfect mix. I began by combining my photos and sketches with scanned found objects and textiles, and altering them in Photoshop to end with a digital print. Digital collage then evolved into painting on traditional substrates in 2006, and fabric painting in late 2006/early 2007. Presently, I'm enjoying a renewed love of photography, along with an amazing new camera, and shooting in RAW format, allowing more creativity when post processing in Photoshop. I'm continually experimenting and working on new ideas and techniques for painting and altering photos that I can incorporate into my books and journals, as well as teach and share in workshops. Other than an occasional opportunity that I can't pass up, 2012 is the last year I will be traveling to teach, other than occasional international trips. I need to be home more, and I don't ever want to look back and wonder why I was so busy and gone so much. I'm excited about teaching exclusively online, and having time to create and offer product for sale, as well as exploring new avenues for my art and for teaching. I will be sending out a newsletter when I have the dates set, and info available. Please sign up on my mailing list if you would like to receive occasional newsletters and updates. |
